What’s in a name? For Couldn't Be Happiers, the whole damn thing. This award-winning folk-rock/Americana duo enjoys every moment performing together, and it’s pretty contagious. Their playful “Violent Femmes meets Johnny and June” vibe and onstage chemistry all but dare you not to enjoy yourself. Their original repertoire includes stories about the obsessive drive of a Bigfoot hunter, the misadventures of a plastic bag, and the end of the world from global warming. Their homespun harmonies and powerful vocals will take you from church to holler to Opry and back.

Some things are just meant to be. Alicia Best (US) and Robert Jackson (UK) met while busking on the cobbled streets of Ireland and discovered both a musical and personal harmony that was serendipitous. In the decade since forming A Different Thread, Best and Jackson have taken their act on the road, touring over a dozen countries, landing supports with artists such as The Milk Carton Kids and Jody Stephens (Big Star), winning 'Best in Folk/Americana' in the 2026 IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards).
Their new album, Over Again, celebrates the duo arriving together in America. RnR Magazine gave it 5 stars calling it “as good an album as you’re likely to hear any time soon in any genre”. Recording began in their tiny home studio, continued in Sylvan Esso's Betty's (The Mountain Goats, Tyler Childers, Watchhouse), and finished at Alma Vale Studio (Yola, Elles Bailey) in the UK.
* The Ramkat & Gas Hill Drinking Room are 18+ venues, but children under 18 years old can attend most shows when accompanied by their parent(s). 
* We reserve the right to charge an underage fee of $5.00 at the door for all patrons under the age of 21 years old on the day of the show.
* If you choose the Print at Home or Mobile Delivery method, you will not have access to view your tickets until seven (7) days before the show date.
* All sales are final. Performances, schedules, programs and artists are subject to change.
* No refunds will be given unless a performance is canceled in its entirety, with no replacement performance scheduled.
* In the unlikely event that a performance is canceled due to extreme weather conditions, The Ramkat will notify ticket buyers.
* Any attempt to resell tickets to events at The Ramkat or Gas Hill Drinking Room at a price greater than the face value of the ticket is in violation of NCGS 55-1-22 and will be referred to criminal authorities. We reserve all rights to pursue civil damages for harm to our venue and/or our customers.
